1. Describe yourself in 2 words?

Tenacious and friendly

2. How do you stay healthy and fit with your busy schedule?

After many years with basketball duties, I do not usually have a routine, but I have a goal: to try to work out at least two hours a day, five days a week. Bike, running, cross-country ski, gym…and, of course, basketball. Fitness is one of my priorities, so I always try to be alert to take every opportunity to do sport. With a busy schedule you never know when you are going to have the next opportunity.

3. How would you define fitness?

The way - no matter how - to have your body in good shape.

4. What was the greatest challenge you faced at Real Madrid?

To keep playing when some members of the team passed away.

5. What was your best moment at Real Madrid?

Winning the European Championship in 1980.

6. Have you been to the UAE?

It is going to be my first time and I am really looking forward to knowing the people and culture.

7. What is your favourite Kobe moment?

The way he has faced his last injury. A lot of courage..!!!

8. What is your secret weapon on the basketball court?

Jump shot from the corner.

9. What is your number one workout tip?

Be tenacious and set short goals.

10. If you were to select 2 celebrities to be your parents, who would they be and why?

I could not imagine anyone to be better parents than I have had.

11. If you could pick one highlight of your career, what would it be?

Winning the Olympic silver medal in LA in 1984.

12. If you were a fruit, what would you be and why?

Orange: a lot of vitamin C and very refreshing. And very Spanish…

13. What was the best piece of advice you ever received?

Never surrender but do not forget that the most important thing is not the place you get but the way you walk.
